A Few Favorites...

Love this coffee for my Keurig!  It is great hot or over ice.  I like to add half and half and a packet of my favorite sweetner Truvia.

Bare Minerals foundation by Bare Escentuals is amazing!  I have used Lancome and Clinque for the last several years and decided to give this stuff a try.  I will not be changing again any time soon!  I love it.  It feels like you are barely wearing make up.  I also have struggled with acne over the last few years and this stuff seems to help.  I am one of those girls that had perfect skin in my teens and early 20's and did not have an issue until I turned 28.  I guess I should consider it pay back for the great skin I had growing up!

I use Dermadoctor Ain't Misbehavin face wash almost daily.  I find that it works very well.  It was interesting using it at first, because you do not use water with it.  I bought a bottle of this after having a facial back in January.  It lasts for a long time, I am still on the first bottle!

I have also been loving Aveeno Daily Moisturizer.  I love that it already has a little SPF in it.  I do like to use my Lancome 30 SPF if I know I will be out in the sun, but the Aveeno works as a great base moisturizer!

Not a Peach...

I may have mentioned before that I am not much of a healthy eater.  That is why I started running in the first place, to be able to eat all of my junk and still wear my size 0 pants.  I blame my junk food love on me being the youngest child.  To say that I was a brat growing up would be an understatement.  :)

I remember last summer trying a strawberry at my friend Heather's house.  Heather and my other girl friends were shocked that I had never tried a strawberry or any other fruit for that matter.  Guess what?  I loved the strawberry and now I have been known to eat a pound of them in one sitting.

The love for this strawberry lead me to try blueberries, raspberries, pinneapple, grapes, kiwi, oranges, and apples.  Sure, I know what you are thinking, how could I possibly make it so long in life without trying these items.  It is called cookies, candy, ice cream, and pizza!

I still do not like bananas.  Okay, actually I have never bit into a banana but do not think I will like them.  I might try one over the weekend.  Maybe.

Last weekend I was in the produce aisle of the grocery store.  This is a new thing for me and I feel as though I do not belong.  I was looking at fruit to see what I should try.  I decided to grab a few peaches.  I had no clue how to eat a peach, but I thought they might taste good.  So the other night I grabbed a peach out of the fridge and cut it up.  I was surprised to find out it was not the texture I thought it would be.  It was more the texture of an apple.  I thought hmm, I guess this is how they are instead of soft.

The next day at work I asked one of the girls if she eats peaches and how she does it.  She told me that they are messing to eat if you eat them like an apple.  I explained to her the texture of my peach.  She asked me if it were fuzzy on the outside.  It was not.

Guess what?  I bought and tried a necterine and not a peach.

Hospital Hill Half Marathon (Just six weeks late)...

On June 5th, my favorite half marathon took place.  The Hospital Hill Half Marathon in downtown Kansas City.  This is such a great race.  It is organized, hilly, and in what I consider to be my hometown.  Okay, I do not live in Kansas City or even Missouri, but the Kansas City metro area is my home.  :)

The only thing about it this year is it was HOT.  Very hot, but it was fun.  That was my main goal, have fun.  I finished in 2:00:40.  The best part about this race is the entire last mile is downhill.  Who does not love that?

Thanks to Ken and Kya for coming out to watch me.  I think Ken loves this race as much as I do.  Miss Kya joins us and gets to play around.

My number one fan waiting on me to finish.

Almost finished, it was a scorcher!

A Day in Weston....

Last weekend we ventured up to Weston for the day with Rob and Michelle.  It was such a great day.  We had lunch, visited a winery and ended the day at the famous pub O'Malley's.  We had a few drinks, or should I say Rob and I had a drink and Ken and Michelle had a few.  We laughed and joked and listened to the wonderful Irish music.
Seriously, I do not know how many pictures I have of these two when Rob is making a silly face.

Much better!

Ken is looking a little creepy...

This is more like it

Yummy Guinness.  Will we be sipping Guinness in Ireland next June?

We call this the Keri and Michelle Show

Ooops!

So I set out to do my long run yesterday around noon.  It had been raining a little bit and I asked my husband (who is obsessed with checking the weather on his blackberry) if the storm was going to hit us and if I was free to go run outside.  He said that I should be okay, I might get rained on but that was it.

So I was having one of those great runs.  I felt great, like running was effortless.  I even ran up a few of the hills I like to run on.  Great right?  I ran out about 2.65 miles from our house and turned around so that I could run home and refill my water bottle and I noticed a little bit of ligtning.  I thought hmm, I better book it.  I saw the clouds but thought if I can make it to the Hideout (shout out to my girl Michelle!) that I can call Ken and he can come and get me.  About a quarter of a mile from the Hideout (the sad thing is all of my girlfriends know exactly what I am talking about when I say the Hideout), it starts pouring!  Wind picks up and it is pouring!  I grab my phone to call Ken and see he has already called me.  He answers and is mad that I am out in the storm and is looking for me.  I tell him where I am and he comes to find me.  Nice husband.  :)

Just before he pulls up, a car that had driven past me once came back by to ask me if I needed a lift.  I told them (husband and wife) thank you, but my husband is right behind you.  I got in the car with Ken and proceeded to get a nice lecture about how dumb it was to be out in the storm.  Yeah, it started raining so hard that you could not see and the roads were starting to flood.  Oops!

He kept asking me what I planned on doing.  I told him I was going to make it to the Hideout and call him from the porch.  I was almost there and could have made it but he freaked me out by telling me to get off the road.  So yes, I will take the Idiot Award this month.

I did finish my run on the treadmill a total of 13.25 miles.  I did look like a drowned rat by the time I was finished, between the rain and sweating.  :)
